The schoolchild’s black-and-white bound composition book is the notebook of record at MIT for documenting R&D.

There is protocol in note-taking, legally binding, to safeguard researchers’ valuable intellectual property.

Exhibition Manual records essays, with images, by Museum of Sketches director, curator, MIT scientists, engineers, and Center for Advanced Visual Studies associates involved in the research and development of “Everything Trembles.”

Responding to the Museum’s mission to “illuminate the creative process,” the 156-page catalogue was made available to the public free of charge as a downloadable pdf on the Museum’s website; the handdrawn original was on view in the exhibition.
